Revenge killing of Delhi businessman, shot at 69 times, plotted by gangster Himanshu Bhau’s aide: Cops

Delhi Police say an associate of gangster Himanshu Bhau orchestrated the brutal murder of a businessman in Aya Nagar as revenge for an earlier killing linked to a land dispute.

The murder was allegedly carried out as revenge for the earlier killing of businessman Arun Lohiya in a land dispute case.Delhi Police say an aide of gangster Himanshu Bhau, operating from the US, planned the killing of businessman Ratan Lal in Aya Nagar on November 30.

An aide of gangster Himanshu Bhau, who is believed to be operating from the United States, allegedly orchestrated the revenge killing of a businessman in Delhi’s Aya Nagar on November 30, police said on Friday.

Ratan Lal was out on his way to his cow shed on the morning of November 30 when he was shot at 69 times by five to six men. He was killed to seek revenge of murder of businessman Arun Lohiya, allegedly gunned down by Ratan’s son Deepak in May this year, said police.  “Multiple people in a small hatchback approached Ratan Lal and opened fire. The victim died on the spot,” DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said.

In May, 10 rounds of shots were fired at businessman Arun Lohiya, who was driving a Scorpio, near the Commander Chowk in Mehrauli, when he was intercepted by the alleged assailants. “The accused, Deepak, knew Lohiya and belonged to the same village as him. They had a dispute over land in the village. It seems like a case of personal enmity,” an officer said. Lohiya, also a resident of Aya Nagar, was taken to the nearby hospital, where he died. In June, about three weeks later, accused Deepak and one other shooter were nabbed by the Delhi Police after a brief exchange of fire near Chirag Delhi- Khanpur road.

“Deepak was taken to Tihar, and some of the family members of Arun started plotting a revenge. That’s when Kamal, Arun’s maternal uncle, stepped in,” a police officer said. A resident of Faridabad,  Kamal allegedly knows Neeraj Faridpuriya, a close associate of Himanshu Bhau.  “Faridpuriya then arranged for five to six members of the Bhau gang to execute Deepak’s brother. But Deepak’s family was aware of it, and moved his brother someplace else,” the police officer said.

On November 30, Fareedpuriya’s men came searching for Deepak’s brother in Aya Nagar, but instead found his father Ratan, who was then shot dead, according to police.
