Three youths shot at a 37-year-old property dealer after he reportedly hit them while reversing his car in Central Delhi on Thursday night.
Police said the driver, Vipin Rajput, was drunk at the time of the incident. Police said a case of attempt to murder has been registered, but the three accused, who have not yet been identified, are absconding.
According to police, the incident took place around 9 pm on Thursday in West Patel Nagar. Police said Rajput, a property dealer in the area, was reversing his car when he hit the three youths. They, in turn, slapped the bonnet of the car to alert him.
Rajput got out of the car and got into an argument with them. But, when he went back inside, one of the boys shouted out something provocative. Rajput got out of his car and got into a scuffle with them.
“One of the three persons whipped out a pistol and shot at Rajput. The three fled and Rajput was rushed to a private hospital. He is out of danger now. He tested positive for blood alcohol. Police are going through CCTV footage of the incident to identify and trace the youth,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar said.
