Property dealer held for fraud

A 54-year-old property dealer,who allegedly duped people on the pretext of selling them land was arrested from Meerut on Sunday.

A 54-year-old property dealer,who allegedly duped people on the pretext of selling them land was arrested from Meerut on Sunday.

With his arrest,police said,two cases of cheating approximately involving over Rs 1 crore have been solved.

The accused,identified as Rajpal Singh was arrested from at Bhud Baral in Meerut,Uttar Pradesh,where he was residing. The fraud came to light when police received several complaints alleging that Singh he had duped people by selling them land which had already been sold,by using forged documents.

“He was involved in two cases of cheating. He had duped one complainant of Rs 79 lakh and the other of Rs 42 lakh,” said V Renganathan,Additional Commissioner of Police (West).
