Priest ‘Chhota Yati’ arrested in Yati Narsinghanand hate speech case

(Express Archives) The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday arrested Anil Yadav, also called ‘Chhota Yati’, in connection with the hate speech made by controversial head priest Yati Narsinghanand of Dasna Devi temple in Ghaziabad.
Yadav, also a temple priest and one of the disciples of the seer, was sent to the District jail early on Friday.
Narsinghanand was reportedly detained on October 5 for allegedly making objectionable comments against Islam and Prophet Mohammed during a speech at the Hindi Bhawan in Ghaziabad’s Lohia Nagar on September 29.
As protests against Narsinghanand continued in different parts of Ghaziabad, a case was registered against four more temple priests — identified as Anil Yadav, Rann Sighnanand, Ram Swaroopanand and Nirbhayanand — in connection with the hate speech.
