A Delhi court on Thursday reserved its order on framing of charges against sacked Uttarakhand minorities panel chief S S Namdhari and 21 others to Saturday.
They were arrested in connection with the killing of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep.
The Delhi Police has argued that all the accused were involved in the conspiracy underlying the murder. Their arguments were refuted by Namdharis counsel who claimed that there was no shred of evidence tying his client to the murder.
Ponty Chadha and Hardeep were killed in a shootout that took place in their Chhattarpur farmhouse on November 17 last year.
According to prosecution,Ponty and Namdhari had gone to the farmhouse with a plan to take over possession of the farmhouse from Hardeep.
However,Hardeep arrived at the spot as Pontys men were opening the gates of the disputed property. Hardeep allegedly fired at Ponty and in return Namdhari and his men fired at Hardeep.
