The Delhi Police on Saturday released photographs of the spiritual guru, who they believe aided the main conspirator in the murder of BSP leader Deepak Bhardwaj. Police said any person coming forward with information about the guru,Swami Pratibhanand (48),will be suitably rewarded.

Investigators said Pratibhanand has been in touch with three women and had changed his cellphone number at least 10 times since the incident.

Sources said Pratibhanand has been making calls only from public booths and had been changing his location frequently.

Close aides and disciples of Pratibhanand are being questioned.

Police said Bhardwaj’s family has not yet been given a clean chit. Pratibhanand is the main link to the conspirator at whose behest the contract killers — Sunil Mann and Purushottam Rana — carried out the killing, police claimed.

Searches have been conducted in Kankhal in Haridwar,Haryana and Indore for Pratibhanand. Meanwhile, police sources said they have got several more leads after questioning the alleged killers. Rana, sources said, was a disciple of Pratibhanand.

According to sources, after Pratibhanand asked Rana to execute the plan,he decided to purchase the Skoda Laura used in the killing. Rana was given an advance of Rs 2 lakh and he approached an agent in Adarsh Nagar. Rana gave his Ford Figo,a Santro and Rs 1.5 lakh to the agent, who, sources said, handed over the Skoda registered in the name of Rakesh — one of the four arrested in the case. Rana then took the help of Mann and Amit, who drove the Skoda to the farmhouse, police said. Amit too has been arrested.

On March 26,they went to the farmhouse and told guards that they wished to book Farmhouse No. 2 for a holiday. Rana knew the layout of the property as he had been there before, police said. But he did not know about the CCTV cameras,Rana reportedly told police.

Once inside,Rana told Amit that he should start the car as soon as he heard gunshots. They spotted Bhardwaj taking a walk on the lawns and went to him. After a brief interaction with Bhardwaj,Rana allegedly shot Bhardwaj in the chest. Mann shot him in the back and Rana then reloaded his weapon and shot Bhardwaj in the head, police said.
