Delhi Police are on the look-out for a man allegedly called Raju wanted in a number of human trafficking cases.
According to police,Raju,who is about 25 years old,frequents bus stops and railway stations and lures girls on the pretext of getting of getting them jobs.
From what a lot of victims have told us, Raju randomly boards trains,and scans compartments for vulnerable-looking women,travelling alone. He then lures them on the pretext of getting them good jobs. He takes these women to various pimps who place them in various brothels. All we are know about him is his modus operandi. No one knows what he looks like and we do not have any record of the man, a police officer said.
According to police,Rajus name cropped up in almost 80 per cent of human trafficking cases busted in the city in recent time.
A few days ago,10 minor girls were rescued from a brothel on G B Road. In this instance,too,Rajus name cropped up,said police. One of the girls told police that she was approached by Raju who offered her a job. Four women,running the brothel,have also been arrested.
Many of the women rescued from brothels have told us about him. Some told us that their husbands sold them to one Raju. Some others told us that they met a man named Raju at the railway station and he promised them a goo job, the officer said.
According to the police,once Raju is identified and arrested,it will help them bust the trafficking racket in the city. We have not been able to reach Raju yet as there are a lot of middlemen involved. The women are taken to various places through several channels before they are placed in brothels. In most cases,the people within the trafficking business do not identify each other, the police officer said.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) DC Srivastava aid,Sketches were made based on the description of the accused given by several victims. But each time,a new face crops up and there is no similarity between the sketches. We are still on the lookout for the accused and have also contacted police stations across states forhelp.
