Wasim was hit in his chest by a bullet, said sources. Despite the police denial, his father accused them of having shot him unnecessarily.
Wasim’s father, Naseem Khan, who works as labourer in a private factory claimed his son was not a part of the mob that clashed with the police.
“My son was going to open his kiosk. He was not aware about what had happened in the other part of the locality,” said Khan. “I had left for work. At 11.30 am, I got to know from my son-in-law over phone that my son was shot by police,” he added.

Wasim’s mother, Razia, said, “When we reached Maharshi Valmiki hospital, police informed us that our son had been throwing stones on them. Wasim never fought with anyone. He never spoke harshly or abused anybody. How could he have indulged in throwing stones or attacking the police?”
Wasim’s aunt, Nazar Bano, said the police did not inform the family at the hospital that he had been shot. “Police did not tell us, doctors informed us he had received a bullet injury. Now, police is saying he died in firing by somebody in locality,” said Bano.
Wasim lived with his parents and two younger brothers, who are studying. He was one the earners of our family, said his father. The family lives four bylanes away from Aditya’s house.
Wasim’s relatives also alleged that police had been insensitive in talking to his father.
Sources said it would soon be clear after tests whether Wasim fell to a police bullet or someone else’s.
