“Ensuring the security of senior citizens who are living alone and are vulnerable is our priority. We appeal to them to cooperate with us when police officers visit their residence,” a senior police officer said.

A nodal officer,at the rank of an inspector, will visit the houses of senior citizens and will ensure that they have minimum security arrangements like door chains, iron grills and ‘magic eyes’ at doors of their houses.

The police also advised senior citizens to contact the area Station House Officer (SHO) if personnel from the police station do not reach their house for the security audit.
