Delhi Police have arrested six members of a ‘gang’ which allegedly carried out a string of burglaries in South Delhi. According to police, the gang’s leader — who was involved in seven cases of burglaries earlier — hailed from Bihar Katihar’s district. The gang leader had “recruited” the other members, who were all from Katihar. All of them had come to Delhi to work as labourers, said police.
The ‘gang’ earlier focussed on Karol Bagh and northeast Delhi, but had recently started carrying out burglaries in south Delhi, said police. “After several cases of burglaries were reported, we formed a team to investigate the matter. We tracked down the six accused and arrested them. During questioning, they admitted that they had committed at least 10 burglaries,” said a senior police officer.
