Puppets from across the world have pitched tent in Delhi. The Ishara Puppet Festival,now in its ninth year,began on Friday and the line-up boasts folklore,mythology and contemporary narratives,told through shadow puppets,masks and string puppets among others. On Sunday catch Anokhe Vastra,a hilarious take on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Emperor’s New Clothes.

Apart from puppeteers from across India,there are shows from Turkey,Spain,Israel and Italy. This is also the first time that a group is participating from the UK. String Theatre Marionettists are bringing their acclaimed show called The Red Balloon,about a boy’s friendship with a balloon.
