Patient found dead at hospital

A 51-year-old male patient admitted to the Institute for Liver and Billiary Sciences (ILBS) for surgery was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday morning.

Hospital sources said Raj Kumar Thakkar was admitted on June 11, with his wife as attendant. “The patient was seen on his bed at 6.15 am on June 12 by the assigned nurse.

Around 6.40 am, when the assigned nurse went to the patient’s room to administer medication and check vital signs, the patient and his wife were not found in the room,” an official statement from the hospital said.

Sources said the patient was immediately shifted to ICU, but despite best efforts, he could not be revived. Police confirmed the incident.
