A 30-year-old worker died while two others suffered injuries when the wall of a tunnel under construction collapsed in Rohinis Sector 18,where the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is carrying out construction work. The incident happened around 5.40 pm. The workers were rushed to Bhim Rao Ambedkar hospital,where one of them,Uma Shanker,was declared brought dead. The other two workers,Dina (25) and Deepak (30),have been admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. The DMRC,in an official statement,said Director (works) Jitender Tyagi had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Fourteen children go missing in the capital every day,says report
Fourteen children go missing from Delhi every day,according to a report compiled by CRY in association with the Alliance for Peoples Rights (APR). In 2012 alone,4,086 children went missing. The statistics were collected by CRY through questions filed under the RTI (Right to Information Act) from Delhis 12 districts. It particularly identifies the Northeast and Outer districts as having the highest number of missing children,with children of migrants,poor and marginalised in a vulnerable state always.
