One killed in celebratory firing at wedding

A 32-year-old man was killed on Saturday night during celebratory firing at his cousin’s wedding in Northwest Delhi.

A 32-year-old man was killed on Saturday night during celebratory firing at his cousin’s wedding in Northwest Delhi.

The incident was reported from Swaroop Nagar around 11 pm. The victim has been identified as Ranbir,a resident of Tajpur village in Outer Delhi.

“Ranbir’s cousin,Sandeep,was getting married. When the marriage party reached near Burari,the groom’s family started celebratory firing in the midst of dancing and music. A bullet hit Ranbir on his forehead and he collapsed immediately. He was rushed to Saroj Hospital,where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Meenu Chowdhary.

Ranbir’s older brother,Karamveer (40),said Ranbir had gone to the wedding with the entire family.
