One person was killed and four others injured after two groups clashed in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area on Friday night. Police said three persons involved in the fight have several cases of petty crimes registered against them.
According to police, the two groups, referred to as Raju’s gang and Ajay’s gang, clashed in Tigri village.
Police said over 20 cases of robbery and petty crimes have been registered against three members of the two groups.
Police said Rohit (17) died in the clash, while Ajay, Raju, Rajeev, Ramakant and Sanju were injured.
According to police, the groups clashed over a personal rivalry. One of them took out a country-made pistol and opened fire and the others followed suit.
“A resident who witnessed the incident made a PCR call. Police personnel then rushed to the spot and took the five injured to Batra hospital. Rohit, who was hit in the chest, was declared brought dead. The other four are critical,” a police officer said.
In a similar incident on Wednesday night in Delhi Cantonment area, two groups got into a fight and fired at each other. Four persons were injured. One of the men, Rakesh, succumbed to injuries on Saturday in AIIMS. Police said two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.
