A beauty contest of a different kind took place at the Jaipur Polo Grounds in Delhi on Saturday. Rows and rows of vintage cars travelled down the lush green circuit,as the second Cartier Travel with Style Concours among the worlds most prestigious showcases of luxury vintage cars got underway.
Fifty-six cars contested in the seven categories, with the best car of the show award going to a historic 1911 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Dome Roof Limousine,a throne car that belongs to former princess Ezra of Hyderabad. This car, ordered by the Nizam of Hyderabad in 1911 and delivered after his death the following year,is said to be the only one of its kind in India.
The award for the Indian Heritage Class was won by the 1955 Fiat 1100-103 Millecento owned by Owais Moshin Kidwai, while a 1925 Rolls Royce Phantom 1,owned by Yadupati Singhania, took home the Childrens Choice prize.
