To make Delhi congestion free, Delhi government had talks with various stakeholders and Gangar was in charge of these events. The repatriation has come as a surprise to many in the government, including senior bureaucrats. Gangar has been asked to report to the service department till further orders.

He has been relieved of all his responsibilities with immediate effect, stated the order issued by Rajendra Kumar, secretary to the CM. Sources in the government claimed that the repatriation has been done without keeping the transport minister in the loop.

“The minister is in Sweden and he even praised Gangar for organising the car-free day successfully. There is no reason why he would have recommended his repatriation. It has also come to light that the minister is not in the know of things regarding this issue,” said a source. Senior bureaucrats in the government who have worked with Gangar claimed that the orders were given a day before the car-free day.

“The orders were issued a day before the car-free day. Even on car-free day, no one knew about his transfer, not even Gangar. The orders reached him after the event. Everyone interacted with the minister that day and no one knew about it,” said a senior official in the government.
