Thieves stealing car stereos and other accessories struck again in the Capital on Friday, this time at Maurya Enclave in Pitampura area of Northwest Delhi. The police said car accessories, including stereos and CNG kits, were stolen from various cars in GD and VP blocks of Maurya Enclave.

This is the fifth incident of car accessories theft in the Capital in a fortnight. However, this time the thieves did not break windowpanes; they used duplicate keys to commit the crime.

“As per the complaints, three stereos were stolen from VP block — the cars were parked next to each other — and a CNG kit was stolen from the GD block,” a senior police officer said.

The police have detained some security guards and automobile thieves active in the area. Meanwhile, the residents said the police’s negligence caused the thefts,as inadequate patrolling was being carried out in the area.
