North corporation threatens stir

North Corporation has demanded funds to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore as dues from the Delhi government.

North Delhi Mayor Ravinder Gupta on Sunday said that Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung has forwarded the letter of demand, including due funds of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, to chief secretary for necessary action and report.

The mayor stated that “If the Kejriwal government does not releases the due funds, the safai karamcharis will surround CM’s office and sit in protest against him.” The North Corporation has demanded funds to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore as dues from the Delhi government.

Gupta said that the Kejriwal government is “exploiting” local bodies by withholding release of due funds which hampers essential services like sanitation and health. He alleged that there seems to be a “conspiracy to derail the systems of the city.”
