A centre along the lines of the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi will soon open in Noida. The announcement was made by Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Alok Ranjan during the second Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway (NGY) Infra Conclave-2015 on Friday.
“It will have the biggest auditorium in NCR and will be able to house 5,000 people at a given time. Twenty-five acres of land have been allotted between the Noida and Greater Noida Expressway. The Noida and Greater Noida authorities have already given the land to the Cultural Department and they will work in unison to complete this project. Funds for the project will come from the Centre,” Ranjan said.
The NGY is an initiative for the residents of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway. Headed by Dr Yogendra Narain, a retired IAS officer, panelists from various fields spoke on topics ranging from health to transport, security to sanitation, policing to education. A final list of suggestions was handed over to authorities.
“Many of the suggestions of NGY conclave 2014 were implemented by the government, like extension of the Metro till Greater Noida, 5,000 auto permits to auto drivers among others. It has been a big boost for because we feel that the government is taking our suggestions seriously,” Narain said.
