No arrest yet after Gurgaon shopkeeper shot dead for refusing to deliver samosa

On Tuesday afternoon, Pankaj returned with three others and fired four shots, two of which hit Saini, according to the complaint.

The police said Saini’s family had alerted local authorities about the threats after Monday’s incident.

“We have made all four individuals in the FIR accused based on the complaint from Saini’s brother. Teams are conducting raids to apprehend them. The gun used has not been identified,” a police officer said.

The incident triggered protests, with local traders shuttering their shops and blocking the Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar Road for three hours on Tuesday.

The agitation ended after Pataudi ACP Sukhbir Singh and Sadar ACP Yashwant Singh promised Saini’s family speedy action against the accused.

Apart from personnel from three police stations, the crime branch is also part of the investigation, the officer added.

The development comes days after a daily-wage labourer was arrested for allegedly beating his six-year-old son to death in Shakti Nagar after the child refused to fetch him water.

The accused in that case had returned home in an inebriated condition and asked his son for water.

“When the child refused, an enraged Suman (father) slapped him. The situation escalated when Satyam (son) threatened to inform his mother, prompting Suman to beat him brutally. The boy hit a wall multiple times during the assault, sustaining fatal head injuries,” a police officer said.
