At a time when the city is on high alert after the blast at Delhi High Court,nine live cartridges of an AK-47 were recovered from outside a hotel in Central Delhi’s Paharganj area this afternoon,police said.

The incident was reported around 2 pm Tuesday when police received a PCR call following which a team was rushed to the spot. Police said that the cartridges were found wrapped in a Hindi newspaper which was recovered from near a paan shop outside a hotel in Paharganj.

According to police,a man went to the shop and it was there that he stepped on the package. Intrigued,he picked it up and found the cartridges. “We have registered a case. There is a possibility that a cop might have visited the hotel and may have accidentally dropped the package,” a police officer said.
