Nigerian national evading trial in Foreigners Act nabbed in Delhi

The Delhi Police recently nabbed a Nigerian national who was declared a proclaimed offender by a Dwarka court for failing to appear for trial in a case registered under the Foreigners Act.

The Nigerian national has been identified as Lazachukwu Arizine, 26.

Ankit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Dwarka, on Saturday said, “The Nigerian national was found to be staying illegally in India without a valid visa or passport. He was declared a proclaimed offender by the court on April 6, 2023, in a case registered under Section 14A of the Foreigners Act at Dabri police station.”

On November 8, based on a tip-off, a police team under the supervision of Station House Officer (Dabri) Virendra Singh tracked down and apprehended Arizine near Pawar Gym in Chanakya Place, said DCP Singh, adding that the accused failed to show any visa or passport during the investigation and has been produced before the court.
