Delhi NCR: New plan to make city more liveable

The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) is working on a plan to increase liveability and economic activities, and to promote sustainable development in the capital, as part of the Regional Plan 2041. The plan will be unveiled by September 2021.

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, who is a member of NCRPB, said the plan should help bring air quality index within 100. Flood control and cleaning of Yamuna will be the other points of focus, he said.

He also said the plan will aid in the growth of niche and industrial activities, “whether it is handicrafts, entertainment or industries”. NCRPB member secretary Archana Agarwal said the plan is in the initial stages.
