New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairman Karan Singh Tanwar Monday said he has “received sanction” for a job on compassionate grounds for the wife of slain estate officer M M Khan.

In a press release, Tanwar said Nishat Khan has been offered a job as an assistant social education officer in NDMC on the same pay grade as that of Khan.

However, Khan’s daughter said Tanwar is “manipulating” everyone as the NDMC had already announced the job two days after her father’s death. “All nine NDMC members had agreed that my mother should get a job on the same pay grade as that of my father… It is not Mr Tanwar who got my mother the job as he is just one of the members… He is manipulating (us),” said Iqra Khan.
