Several ex-servicemen stood by the 75-year-old retired Wing Commander, saying police arrested him in a very humiliating manner.

“It was a case of financial nature but the police acted in such a highhanded manner which is not even used against the confirmed terrorists… We the ex-Servicemen and all other like minded persons highly condemn the uncalled for and extremely highhandedness of Haryana Police. We demand a judicial inquiry into the same and severe action against the defaulters,” read an email circulated among IESM members.

Police denied these allegations and said that the family was with the accused till 9.30 pm Thursday night, after which he was taken to the civil hospital for a routine medical examination and then kept in Civil Lines police station for the night.
