Murali Kartik,wife caught in car accident,two injured

Police said no case has been registered.

Two persons were injured when a Volvo being driven by Indian cricketer Murali Kartik reportedly rammed into a Xylo in the wee hours of Friday in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area. Police said no case has been registered.

The cricketer’s wife suffered minor injuries,while an occupant of the Xylo,Sudeep,suffered a fracture in his right hand. He is recuperating at Pushpanjali hospital in Vaishali,Ghaziabad.

The incident,sources said,occurred around 12.30 am when Kartik and his wife Sweta were returning to their residence in Green Park from the Taj Mansingh after attending a function there.

They were on on the Tenzing Norgay Marg,going towards Niti Marg. At the same time a Mahindra Xylo,driven by one Raj Kumar,was headed towards Mayur Vihar. Other than Raj Kumar,Sudeep,who works for the Indian Medical Association,and his friend were also in the Xylo.

Police said at the Niti Marg intersection,Kartik’s Volvo rammed the Xylo. Sudeep and Sweta were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. Sweta was discharged immediately. A DD entry of the incident has been made,but,no case has been registered.
