A 31-year-old Ugandan national was allegedly abducted,molested and dumped by four men in South Delhis Vasant Kunj area early on Saturday morning. The woman met the accused at a hotel in Gurgaon on Friday night and they offered her a lift home in Shakarpur,East Delhi. The accused were travelling in their Skoda car.
According to police,the victim said in her complaint that the accused started molesting her and when she resisted,they assaulted her and dumped her on the Mahipalpur flyover.
Police said the victim resides at a rented accommodation in Shakarpur and came to India three months ago for treatment. The accused have been identified as Prakhar Gupta (22),Amandeep (22),Swapnal Rana (21) and Daman (24),all residents of Mayur Vihar.
The incident took place on Friday night,when Prakhar met the victim at a party. He offered her a lift back home in his Skoda, a senior police officer said.
Initially,the victim refused but when she couldnt find a taxi,she accepted the offer. In the meantime,the other three accused also joined them.
While on their way,the accused started misbehaving with the woman and when she resisted,slapped her repeatedly and threatened her with dire consequences. She started screaming and worried that someone would hear them,the accused who had first gone towards Chhattarpur area,went to the Mahipalpur flyover looking for a place to dump her. The woman managed to jump out of the car. One of the accused tried to stop her but he fell out of the car too. A passerby noticed them and made a PCR call. A police team rushed to the spot. The woman managed to hold onto the accused who had fallen off the vehicle. The others managed to flee,but were arrested later from their homes, the officer said.
The victim was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre,where she is recuperating,police said. Based on the victims statement,a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC.
