A 17-year-old boy lost his life after being allegedly shot by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer near a community centre at the DDA Market in Mansarovar Park in Delhi’s Shahdara on Friday evening, police said. Police said the accused is currently posted as a head constable in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur.
The incident happened while a wedding procession was taken out and celebrations were underway, police said.
According to the police, a call was received from a local resident regarding the incident. A team reached the spot. Initial enquiry revealed that the victim was shot during an altercation.

A pistol believed to have been used in the incident has been recovered from the possession of the accused. Officers said he is currently being questioned.
“Prima facie, it seems that a sudden altercation broke out between the victim and the accused,” a police officer stated, adding that an investigation is underway.
