Delhi Women and Child Development Minister Sandeep Kumar Wednesday denied reports about an altercation with the principal of a government school.
According to government sources, Kumar was pulled up by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Tuesday for allegedly getting into an argument with the woman principal of a government school in Kumar’s constituency Sultanpur Majra. The principal and the minister had an argument over displaying a plaque that bore Kumar’s wife Ritu Verma’s name, said sources.
Sources said that Sisodia asked Kumar to apologise to the principal and the matter had now been resolved.
However, Kumar said he and the principal had a “normal conversation”. “As I speak Haryanvi, even if we talk normally, people think it’s a fight… I did not threaten her for not inscribing my wife’s name on plaque. It was a normal conversation,” he said.
