Memorial for ’84 riots victims near Rakab Ganj Gurdwara

In a symbolic gesture towards victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots,Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has planned to construct the proposed memorial for riot victims at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib,located near the Parliament.

In a symbolic gesture towards victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots,Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has planned to construct the proposed memorial for riot victims at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib,located near the Parliament.

“We have chosen Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib for the memorial as a symbolic gesture as it is located near the Parliament…,” DSGMC president Manjit Singh G K told Newsline.

The executive committee of DSGMC met last week and decided to put the proposal before the general house meeting of DSGMC scheduled on Wednesday. In the 51-member general house of DSGMC,which is controlled by SAD,the proposal is likely to sail through easily.

“The proposal would be placed before DSGMC general house and we hope it would sail through easily,” Manjit Singh G K said.
