Members of milk co-op society to be given rights over 144 plots

The rights will be conferred upon them by the Delhi Development Authority.

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) has given it nod to confer on milk producers of Jheel Khuranja Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society the freehold rights of the 144 plots that they have been operating since 1950. The rights will be conferred upon them by the Delhi Development Authority.

“Ministry of Urban Development gave its in-principle approval on June 27,2013,to confer freehold rights to the members of Jheel Khuranja Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society. Their successors have been carrying on commercial activities or living on these plots. It has also been decided that in case there is any violation of building bye-laws,unauthorised construction or misuse, suitable misuse charges and damages or other charges, whichever is applicable, would be imposed and recovered,’’ a DDA official said.

The society had been requesting DDA that the allottees of these 144 plots should be conferred freehold rights as per the conversion policy of DDA. The request was examined both in DDA and MoUD. “Further action shall be taken by DDA after getting required information from the society,” the official said.
