The BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Friday accused Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of rejecting a proposal to double the councillors local area funds and called it an unlawful interference.
In a meeting with her ministers on Thursday,Dikshit had rejected the proposal,MCD Standing Committee Chairman Vijender Gupta claimed. He said,This kind of interference will not be tolerated.
The Standing Committee meeting also witnessed a ruckus over the issue today. The civic body had recently approved doubling the councillor’s area development fund from Rs 1 crore to Rs 2 crore.
