Man stabbed,robbed of Rs 10,000 in city

A 25-year-old man was stabbed and robbed of Rs 10,000 by unidentified assailants in Central Delhi on Tuesday.

A 25-year-old man was stabbed and robbed of Rs 10,000 by unidentified assailants in Central Delhi on Tuesday. The victim was rushed to Bara Hindu Rao hospital and is recuperating.

The incident took place at 3 pm on Tuesday on Idgah road,near Desh Bandhu Gupta Road in Central Delhi. According to police,the victim,identified as Sanjay Kumar,was returning to his home in Paharganj,when he was robbed.

“Kumar works at a factory which manufactures mobile chargers in Sarai Rohilla. He was attacked as he was walking on Idgah Road. When the victim tried to raise an alarm,he accused stabbed him in his thigh and chest before fleeing,” a senior police officer said.

Passersby rushed Kumar to the hospital and alerted police about the incident. A case has been registered at the DBG Road police station.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Central),D C Srivastava said,“The accused persons had robbed Kumar of Rs 10,000. We suspect some local goons and have detained a few persons. Fortunately,Kumar is stable now and he should be able to identify the assailants.”
