Man sitting on road run over by car in Ghaziabad

A man died after he was allegedly run over by a car, following which the Ghaziabad Police arrested the accused and seized a car.
A video of the incident was circulated on social media, where it was seen that the car ran over a man sitting on the road.
A police official said the incident happened on Tuesday night near the bridge of RDC Rajnagar in Kavi Nagar police station area.

An official said he was driving his friend’s car, on which a sticker of the BJP’s symbol was allegedly pasted and “Vidhayak Pratinidhi (representative of MLA)” was written on the rear.
“A case of culpable homicide is being registered on the complaint of the police. The deceased has not been identified yet. The accused driver and vehicle have been seized. Further legal action is being taken,” said Abhishek Srivastava, ACP Kavinagar, Ghaziabad.
“We have got the driver’s medical conducted. A sample will be sent to the FSL so that it can be confirmed whether the person was intoxicated at the time of the incident,” said an official.
