Police identified the victim as Aditya, who sustained a bullet injury in his backbone and is undergoing treatment at Dr Hedgewar Hospital
A 22-year-old man was shot at by unidentified men on Monday night while he was out with his wife at East Delhi’s Geeta Colony, police said.
Police identified the victim as Aditya, who sustained a bullet injury in his backbone and is undergoing treatment at Dr Hedgewar Hospital. Around 10.10 pm, police received information regarding the incident from the hospital, where Aditya was admitted by his uncle Murari Sharma.
Officers said initial inquiry revealed that Aditya had gone out with his wife, Bhumi, to eat when he was shot. “On Monday noon, a few of his friends had allegedly threatened him to return some money… Prima facie the incident seems to be a fallout of a financial dispute between the injured and his associates. Aditya is conscious but is not revealing the names of the accused,” said DCP (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam.
In June, Aditya had been arrested for robbery in connection to a case registered at Preet Vihar police station, police said.
