A man was shot at eight times by four to five men in Gurgaon’s DLF Phase 3 on Saturday, police said, adding that he was taken to hospital soon after and was safe.
According to the police, Devender was in a Brezza car when the unknown assailants in a Ritz car waylaid him. “Around 11.30 am on Saturday, the accused stopped Devender and shot at him eight times before fleeing from the spot. He was taken to a hospital and is safe now,” said ACP (crime) Varun Dahiya.
The ACP said the initial investigation revealed that Devender worked for a dumper transport firm and that the assailants had enmity with him over a family property dispute. Though Devender was carrying Rs 25 lakh at the time of the incident, the assailants did not take the money away, he said.
A police team and the crime branch reached the spot after they were informed at 11.30 am that four to five unknown assailants had opened fire at the DLF Phase 3 area. “We have collected CCTV footage and are going through it. We will soon arrest the accused,” the ACP said.
