A 25-year old man was allegedly robbed and later shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi on Thursday. The deceased is yet to be identified.
The police officers said the man was found dead with a bullet lodged in the chest on the Nagal Devat Road at around 8 am on Thursday. The police was called after a passerby noticed stench coming from behind the bush the area.
The police said the clothes of the deceased were torn and his pockets were empty,indicating the man was robbed before being shot dead. The body was sent to the Safdargunj Hospital,where doctors could remove the bullet from the chest only after an operation. The post-mortem report will be available by Saturday,a police officer said.
A case of murder against unknown people has been registered and all districts have been issued an alert to identify the deceased.
