Man impersonated PM to get favours,arrested

A phone used to make the calls were recovered from the accused.

A former employee of Super Cassettes Industries was arrested for impersonating political leaders,including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,to demand favours and money to the tune of Rs 20 lakh. A phone used to make the calls were recovered from the accused.

Kishan Kumar,who worked as liaison consultant at Super Cassettes,was on Friday remanded in police custody for interrogation regarding two alleged aides — Vikas Datt and Amit Kumar — who are absconding.

According to an FIR,filed by the company’s director,Super Cassettes Industries had been flooded with hoax calls for the last few months. The others he impersonated include RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav,BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha and ex-Union Minister Raghupati Sevugan.
