Man batters friend to death over offensive remark

A day after a tea-stall owner was hammered to death over Rs 312,in another incident a man beat his friend to death with a stick after he said something derogatory against him.

A day after a tea-stall owner was hammered to death over Rs 312,in another incident a man beat his friend to death with a stick after he said something derogatory against him.

The police said accused Manoj Singh (28) was drinking with his friend Ajay Lal (32) at Gaushala Road in Central Delhi on Tuesday evening when the incident occurred. In a drunken state Lal uttered some derogatory remarks against Singh,which enraged him. Singh grabbed a stick nearby and beat his friend to death.

Lal’s body was found in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the Lady Hardinge Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Singh,who had fled the spot,was arrested near Filmistan cinema on Wednesday evening.

A day before the incident also,Lal,after returning from his screen-printing factory,had gone to drink with Singh.
