Limited Metro service on R-Day,Beating Retreat

Metro services will be affected this Republic Day and on January 29,when the Beating Retreat ceremony takes place.

Metro services will be affected this Republic Day and on January 29,when the Beating Retreat ceremony takes place.

The Central Secretariat to Vishwavidyalaya and Indraprastha to Dwarka Sector-9 lines will remain affected till 12.30pm on Monday,January 26. Metro services between the Central Secretariat and Rajiv Chowk stations will also remain unavailable during the same time period,DMRC officials said.

“There will be no services between Indraprastha and Barakhamba Road till 1pm. Metro services between the Rajiv Chowk and Vishwavidyalaya stations will be available only from 6 am to 12.30 pm,and between Dwarka Sector 9 and Barakhamba Road from 6 am to 1pm,” Anuj Dayal,DMRC spokesperson,said.

Normal Metro train operations will resume thereafter on all lines.

Services on Line-1 (Dilshad Garden to Rithala) will be available as normal through out the day.

On January 29,Metro services will not be available between the Central Secretariat and Rajiv Chowk stations from 3.30 to 6.30pm. Services on Line-2 will be available only between Vishwavidyalaya and Rajiv Chowk during this time.

Services on Line-1 and Line-3 (Dwarka Sector-9 to Indraprastha) will operate as normal.

The Republic Day celebrations will also affect feeder bus services and many buses will be unavailable for security reasons. The service will be available on Republic Day only after 1pm on the Pragati Maidan to Mayur Vihar Phase-I route. Other information regarding the service will be available at all concerned Metro stations.

All Metro parking lots will also remain closed from 7pm on January 25 to 1pm on January 26,as advised by the Delhi Police for security reasons.
