NEW DELHI:Fearing protests,especially from Tibetan exiles living in Delhi,authorities have announced that Race Course Metro station will remain closed from 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday. Officials said the decision was made as a security measure,keeping in mind Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to the national capital. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be hosting a dinner for Premier Li on Sunday evening.

Power cuts in West Delhi

NEW DELHI:Certain parts of West Delhi were affected due to a disruption in the power supply line between Bamnauli and Pappankalan in West Delhi. Delhi Transco officials said there was a problem of load shedding of up to 50 MW. “There was a total distribution of 4,500 MW,which is about 50 MW short of normal. The problem was minor and we managed to restore the lines within an hour,” a Delhi Transco spokesperson said.
