Citing allegations made by former Home Secretary R K Singh against Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, advocate and RTI activist Vivek Garg has approached the Anti-Corruption Branch requesting that the matter be probed.

In his complaint, Garg said that Singh had levelled serious charges against Shinde.  “…this is a serious matter of corruption, criminal breach of trust and conspiracy… the same has been widely published in newspapers and telecast in news channels.”

He cited a High Court order which has ruled that information collected from newspapers is sufficient for registering an FIR.
“An investigation is required to find out… what corrupt activities were done…,” the complaint read.

ACB sources said an inquiry has been marked to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACB) Balwant Singh. Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat declined comment on the matter.
