Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s hunt for a residence is set to come to an end within two weeks, as party officials have confirmed that he will move to Kaushambi.

Kejriwal’s wife, a senior IRS officer is eligible for government accommodation. She will most likely be assigned a flat in Girdhar Apartments, Kaushambi, a colony designated for officers of the revenue service, party officials said.

“Arvind Kejriwal will move to Kaushambi before the end of July. The flat is in the same compound where he lived before he was allotted a residence during his tenure as Delhi chief minister,” a spokesperson for the AAP said.

Kejriwal is currently living at the government appointed accommodation on Tilak Lane. He had requested a six-month extension owing to his daughter’s class XII examinations.

During the last month, the party had looked at several options. In the last week of June, a residence on Flagstaff Road in the Civil Lines, which belongs to Naren Jain, son of Congressman Bhiku Ram Jain, was picked. A legal tussle, however, emerged between Naren and his brother Virender over the ownership of the house.

As there seemed to be no end in sight to the dispute between the brothers, Kejriwal decided to look elsewhere for a house as his extension at the Tilak Lane home would end by July.
