Ex-AAP member Prashant Bhushan on Thursday hit out against a Delhi government advertisement, claiming that it was a “crass projection of CM Kejriwal” and was violative of a Supreme Court order. Government officials, however, said the advertisement does not use Kejriwal’s photograph and did not go against the ruling.
Taking to twitter, Bhushan said, “The ‘Jai Ho Kejriwal’ ad on TV is against the SC order, which had ruled against any projection of a leader or a political party. It is an abuse of funds to project a leader. Apart from being a crass and crude abuse of funds, the ad is sexist and projects women as servants of their husbands.”

In the advertisement, a woman praises Kejriwal’s measures to curb power prices and accuses his political opponents of ganging up on him. A senior official, however, said there was no violation of the SC’s order.
“…There is no violation of the order as we have not used a photograph or visuals of the CM (in the ad)…,” S S Yadav, Director of Information and Publicity, said.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Bhushan said he was considering approaching the Supreme Court. However, he said the case would not just focus on the Delhi government.
“We are considering going to the SC because its order is clearly being violated. However, this is happening even in other states such as with Jayalalithaa in Tamil Nadu,” Bhushan said.
