Jaspal Rana’s father-in-law kills self

The deceased, identified as A S Bisht, shot himself with a revolver at his residence in Sainik Farm area at around 1 pm.

The father in law of the Indian shooter Jaspal Rana committed suicide on Wednesday afternoon in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area, police said. The deceased, identified as A S Bisht, shot himself with a revolver at his residence in Sainik Farm area at around 1 pm.

“At around 1 pm Rana’s father-in-law shot himself with his licensed revolver in his temple and was rushed to Max Hospital in Saket where he succumbed to injuries. Prima facie Bisht was depressed over losses in his business,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Prem Nath.

Police said his family had been informed and the body was sent for post-mortem.His daughter Reena Rana arrived in the city for the cremation along with Jaspal. Reena, currently a fashion designer is a national-level shooter. Son-in-law Jaspal is a Padma Shree awardee and had earlier joined politics.
