Jamia Hamdard hospital staff dies by suicide in campus

DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said that no suicide note has been found.

A 54-year-old ward boy employed at Jamia Hamdard hospital in New Delhi allegedly died by suicide, as he jumped from the window of a fifth floor washroom located on the hospital premises early Friday.

The deceased, Mushtak Ali, lived in the staff quarters on the hospital premises. He was admitted to the orthopaedic ward of the hospital on December 23 due to a fracture in his foot, the police said, adding that he jumped to death while he was still admitted in the ward.

DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said that no suicide note has been found.

The police said the hospital informed the Tigri police station of the incident around 1.21 am. His family was in Odisha and have been informed of the incident, they added.
