Interstate arms trafficking network with ties to gunhouse owners busted, 5 held: Delhi Police

The gangsters passed on the information to the Lawrence Bishnoi-Rohit Godara network, which led to businessmen in Delhi getting extortion calls from Rohit Godara (Archive) An interstate arms trafficking network was busted by the Special Cell with the arrest of five people, including a gunhouse owner, the Delhi Police said.
According to the police, some Delhi-based criminals were found to be involved in providing gangsters sophisticated arms, made in ordnance factories, at high rates for extortion purposes. The alleged criminals — who also owned gunhouses — were the middlemen between ordnance factories and gangsters, they said.
A team led by Inspector Sanjay Gupta busted the network.
“Gunhouse owners part of this network used to procure sophisticated weapons directly from different ordnance factories and erase their unique weapon numbers. After fudging their records, these owners used to sell sophisticated weapons and ammunition to criminals at very high prices, while showing the sale to the licensee holders in their records,” Additional CP (Special Cell) Pratiksha Godara said.
