The body of an Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) party worker from Najafgarh area was found with four bullet wounds near a gutter in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh area on Tuesday morning. Police said his family had filed a case of kidnapping with Delhi Police two days ago.

“Varun Jangra (30) was a property dealer in Southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh area. His body was found in Siddhipur village in Haryana on Tuesday around 8 am with four bullet wounds. Passersby who came across the body alerted the police control room. We identified the body after going through the identity cards. We informed Delhi Police who took his body back to Delhi,” a senior police officer at Bahadurgarh said.

Police said prima facie, it appeared that Jangra was murdered on the intervening night of October 7-8. Jangra’s family said he went missing on the evening of October 6 and they had filed an FIR with the Delhi Police the next day. By then, Haryana police had recovered his body. But they did not know the identity.

Delhi Police and Jangra’s parents went to Bahadurgarh to bring back the body. Police said it might be a case of personal enmity or business rivalry.
