Court in Delhi’s Dwarka receives bomb threat, search underway

The Delhi Police said the bomb threat email was received at the official ID of the court in the morning and discovered by a staff at about 10 am.

A court in Delhi’s Dwarka was evacuated Wednesday morning, and a search operation was launched after it received a bomb threat over email.
Officers said the local police, fire department, bomb detection team, and bomb disposal squad were rushed to the court to conduct the inspection, and the premises were evacuated.

“As of now, nothing suspicious has been discovered. But the checking is underway,” a police officer said.

According to the police, the email was received at the official ID of the court in the morning and was discovered by a staff member around 10 am.

“The mail is suspected to be sent by some anonymous person. It was written in English language,” the officer said, adding a case will be registered to nab the sender.

As per the court officials, the senior Delhi Police officers also reached the court complex. “Lawyers, judges, litigants, and staff are safe as of now,” said a court official.
